The Weeds and the Wheats: Which Crop Do You Produce ?
Monday Apr 01, 2024
Monday Apr 01, 2024
Today Michaela and Reco discuss the reality of producing certain crops. The Tares and Wheat analogy comes out of parable Jesus tells his followers in hopes of understanding grace God gives. We look at life and wonder which crop are we producing and allows us to decide if we want to seed another value in ourselves or keep that ugly crop.
Verse: Matthew 13:24-30

God’s Stretching
Wednesday Mar 08, 2023
Wednesday Mar 08, 2023
Hey Tru Disciple family we hope y'all are having an awesome week! We been moving and grooving and getting some systems in place enjoying God's stretching which if we are honest can be annoying. Reco and I are learning that God's stretching in both of our lives as well as many other believers is symbolic to not being or becoming complacent which is whole different topic in itself. We love y'all and hope you all enjoy this episode, God bless! -Michaela

This week Reco and I discussed some minor annoyances we have been struggling with and how despite these obstacles its important to go back to Jesus and allow him to guide us in to a heart check when these annoyances work our nerves (we are only human). As per usual we just share some of the things we have learned while we have been doing life and carrying our cross (we need some milk!) any who we love y'all and hope y'all are having an amazing week. Man... Where has time gone? We hope you guys are doing well. This week Reco and I are diving in head first regarding faithfulness which is something that we both struggle with. We have been gone for some time now really just trying to sort through life and tussling with Jesus regarding faithfulness with this podcast. Can you guess who won? (lol) We hope you guys are refreshed by this episode as much as we were. It felt good for both of us to remove the mask and say " Hey Jesus Im tired of face planting."

Stop Putting Up the Veil that Jesus Tore!!!!
Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
Hey TRU DISCIPLE Family!!! We are back with another episode!!! Today we will be coming out of Matthew 27:45-56 talking about the death of Jesus. Many times as believers we find ourselves alike Jesus asking God if he has forsaken us when our physical circumstances don't match up with the promise or last conversation we had with God. We see God's word as always fulfilled and our suffering coming to end just in time. Jesus laying on the cross and asking God these very words demonstrates a God who not only answers by fire but also with action. The good news is that we, sinners, reap the benefit of salvation because of the work done on the cross *Thank you Jesus*. This week let us all challenge and hold each other accountable to not put up the veil that Jesus tore down. In our faith walks we find that sometimes we can get into a religious synchronized way of thinking that there are certain protocols that we have to do in order to please God. The reality of course is that Jesus did more than what we could ever do. With that being said YOU ARE ENOUGH and Jesus died so that we could be enough!!!

Allowing Jesus to do the Heavy Lifting.
Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Hey TRU DISCIPLE Family!!! We hope you all are having a great week. In this weeks episode we dive into Acts chapter 17 from beginning to end after a long sabbatical (lol). We also review 2 Corinthians 2:16-17.
Key Points:
- Paul preaching the gospel in 3 different regions which include Thessalonica, Berea, and Athens. In these three different regions we see how the people who live in these particular demographics respond differently to the Gospel.
- Take notice that in Berea the Jews examined scripture to make sure that what Paul was saying was true. Paul did not get mad at the people for weighing and testing what he said to see if it was in alignment with God's word. This is a visual reminder that regardless of who it is we are still suppose to go to scripture ourselves to allow God to confirm his word to us. Also take note how Paul still had HUMILITY in knowing that the Gospel itself speaks for itself and that there was no self glorification that he could do that the cross had not already done in an even greater capacity.
- 2 Corinthians 16-17- To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God in sincerity, as those sent from God.
